Eyes of Shadow

After losing his sister to illness, Edward becomes distraught. He struggles to find the strength to endure his existence. His wife, kids, even his other siblings are not enough to help mend his heartbreak. Edward is at risk of being swallowed and lost forever to this overwhelming affliction of loss and death. In one of his most crippling darkest moments, the depths of the shadows consume his mind. As Edward transverses the gloom, he senses a presence. It is ancient, powerful, and it seems to be attracted to his anguish. Although fearful at first, Edward feels strangely comfortable and tethered to this presence within the shadows. Unbeknownst to Edward, he had somehow accessed a conduit to the world beyond the physical. A world where the gods dwell. However, the ubiquity within the shadows Edward has summoned is not a god. The presence is Astraea, a sorceress that lived more than two millennia ago. Somehow, by joining to the shadow realm, Edward and Astraea are bound transcending space and time. Their decisions on how to use this new found power will shape both the heavens and the world.

Eyes of Shadow will be a series of three books. Book One: The Myth of Oblivion, is currently being written and has a projected publish year of 2018. The Significance of Being Insignificant

The world is but a fragment sliced from the celestial womb of creation and cast to ellipse the heavens Last year I was spring cleaning in my attic and found treasure! It was a shoe box bound by a dusty, red off color string of yarn. It had been at least several years since I arranged the attic so I honestly did not have a clue as to what was in this slightly heavy box I found. When I opened it, I peered at a book stuffed with folded loose papers. They were my old writings from middle school all the way through college. I had reduced the amount of time I wrote creatively to only once or twice every year or so since I had left college. The Power in Being Fragile

The future is an unknown variable, but your nature is known through the experiences of your past. There is one absolute of this life, the universal truth that every living thing must die. What does the word must mean in that statement?  Every living thing must die?  It sounds morbid, and even immoral in a sense. Nevertheless, all living things, despite their varying contributions of love, hate, violence or peace, are bound by the curse of death. Despite this shared fate, I believe the energy that animates the living is neither good or evil.
